Hello! I'm Diego
My name is Diego and I live in Vicenza (Italy).
I've got the callsign since few weeks and I'm asking for some advice about "how to start": antenna, rig, electronic devices like ros meter and so on!
Now, with the help of the ARI section in Vicenza, I'm using their rigs just to figure out what we are talking about.
To understand how to listen to, how to transmit, what to say, the ethical code and everything that will make me a good OM (at least I'm trying to!).
I'd like own a Yaesu FT991a because I think it's a good rig to begin. For now, I'm reading the user manual.
I think I'll begin fixing a HF antenna on the roof (I read the IW2EN web site since the first webpage to the last one) and, I guess, I'll buy an EXTREME antenna. I read opinions about it everywhere. But in the end, I stopped reading because I found pro and cons in different ways. There is who says: "It's good" and there is who says: "It's the worst thing I never bought in my life". I guess there is no absolute truth in these field: everyone has to make his own idea about without forgetting the opinion of other OM.

The story goes on.
A new rig is arrived: YEASU FT-911.
Second hand, but updated to the last firmware.
With this rig I've been able to try the antenna and to make my first QSO.
Veeeeery good! The biggest distance since now it has been Kuwait. I'm very satisfied.
